In 2161 the United Federation of Planets was founded by the inhabitants of Andor, Earth, Tellar, Vulcan and the former Earth colony of Alpha Centauri. Other cultures / races had been encountered prior to the founding, and some in the years following. Here is a list and brief description of the cultures known to the UFP by approximately 2170.
