| Personal History | T’Vei was raised in the Velash Enclave, a small agricultural station and research compound located within a canyon on Vulcan. There a handful of specialists cultivate grain terraces and study sustainable farming methods in the planet’s harsh climate while producing food for nearby settlements. Her father, Selvek, designed and maintains the enclave’s intricate irrigation systems, while her mother, T’Rel, oversees soil chemistry and crop viability. Life in the enclave emphasized discipline, cooperation, and careful observation of natural systems, shaping T’Vei’s patient and analytical temperament. As the second of four siblings, she grew up assisting with field studies and maintenance tasks, while also studying the tal’ren, a bowed string instrument she began playing in adolescence as a structured outlet for expression. Like many Vulcans of her generation, T’Vei was betrothed in youth. Her fiancee's, Asil, family maintained connections to Vulcan’s academic institutions. Their families arranged periodic visits during their childhood, allowing the two to become familiar with one another through conversation, meditation, and shared study rather than courtship. As T’Vei matured, she experienced a period of personal realignment and began openly living as female, a decision approached by her family and betrothed through careful consideration and logic rather than conflict. Growing up in a small compound, T'Vei always felt drawn to larger settlements and had a desire to see what was beyond Vulcan. After attending the Vulcan Learning Center, T’Vei pursued a degree in botany at the University of Kir, intending to follow a path similar to her parents’ work but with her own spin. Upon graduating she entered the Vulcan Military Academy, seeing service as a logical means to travel beyond Vulcan while applying her scientific education. She was assigned to the Vulcan science vessel VSS Sh’Raal as a junior botanist, but after her keen observational skills and disciplined temperament proved indispensable in solving sabotage on a research mission, this led to reassignment assisting the ship’s security division. She found the new work required careful attention to complex systems and precise control of potentially dangerous equipment, areas in which she demonstrated natural aptitude. Following the founding of the United Federation of Planets, T’Vei completed supplemental security and tactical training and continued serving aboard the Sh’Raal as a sublieutenant. During several years of routine patrol and survey operations she refined her skills in security systems and armory management. While the Sh’Raal explored regions formerly associated with the Delphic Expanse, the growing need for experienced security personnel at Sentinel Station led her to volunteer for the assignment. |
